ESPNews reports Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick has been indicted in the dog fighting probe done in Surry County, Va.

Any predictions on a Vick suspension?  I'll put the over/under at 8 games.

If he is guilty of half of the things described in the indictment he'll never play another down in the NFL again.

'In April, just before authorities raided his property in rural Virginia, the Falcons' star quarterback was there "rolling" some of his pit bulls -- that is, putting them through test fights to see if they were "game," federal authorities said. Eight of the animals didn't make the cut, and were executed by Vick and two co-defendants by "hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground," authorities allege.'

He might actually get to play most if not all of the season it looks like. His trial probably won't happen until the end of the season, and he'll only have a handful of court dates in between that he might miss practice for. That said, I don't know how effective he'll be with this looming over his shoulder for the entire season. Also, if the fans turn on him more than they were starting to last year it could get ugly...

lets hold our judgement on vick and let the courts do their work.  Usually it plays out in the right way...i mean OJ....the Rodney King Cops....ummmm

OK ban him for life and force him to ride its a small world at disneyworld non stop until he dies.

The animal shelters in this country have been putting animals "to sleep" for years...and nobody says a word.

When animals are "processed" for food...how do you think they kill the animals...by eletrocution in many instances.  Again...nobody says a word.

The fact that people think he will never play again is ludicrious.  Leonard Little killed a woman in a drunk driving accident (for which he spent 90 days in jail and was suspended for 8 games) and has been playing in the NFL ever since...even despite his 2nd DUI five years after killing the woman in the drunk driving accident.

Also, Qyntel Woods was convicted of dogfighting in 2004 and was only sentenced to 3 months in prison.  Not to mention, nobody in the press made any big issue of it.  It is clear that Vick is being made an example of due to his celebrity status.

I guarantee there's a lot more people out there with DUIs on their record than dog fighting charges. That's why more people are willing to throw stones at Vick in this case, that way their conscience doen't get in the way of their vitriol.

I don't think Vick put any dogs "to sleep," he tortured and killed them. There's no comparison.
